In Europe during the early 1200s, gold hallmarks were used to designate the purity of gold in a piece of jewelry. Each piece included three marks; the mark of the assaying office (those who determined the quality and purity), the caratage of gold and the goldsmith who created the piece. These marks became a pre-requisite for gold items offered for public sale and most importantly, told the buyer which smith made the jewelry, thus designating the standard in which the piece was created.
Your brand is your mark. It connects people directly to your work; to how you do things; to who you are in your space. Your brand speaks to the quality, purity and standard of your company. Brand recognition builds trust and great branding diminishes the possibilities that your clientele will look elsewhere. It makes you the only option, and that’s how you leave your mark.
