String & Stone was a dream that this owner had tucked away in her heart for years and years. Being able to help her bring it to the surface and breathe life into it was a true honor. Lacie had the background, the education and a passion to create hand crafted, organic, but refined fine-jewelry using the highest end gems and stones. Turning that passion into a business and getting her amazing jewelry to the public was the task at hand. The first step was building a brand that would resonate with the masses, while keeping a very “made-by-hand” local and boutique feel. “Artisan Crafted, Elegant and Elevated” are the words that we built this brand around.
String & Stone’s primary logo was created using a combination of established and customized typography. The “S”, the “g” and “&” were all customized to complete the established but playful feel of the main typography. The “g” weaves its way through the “O”, representing the string connecting the bead to the rest of the piece. We built the primary logo to have nice, soft flowing curves; the rounded edges and circular motion, representing the style of String & Stone jewelry. The long, horizontal logo variation positions the ampersand as the “clasp”, connecting the words “String” and “Stone”. The Icon was built as a pair of overlapping “S’s” connecting at top and bottom, representing the unification of “string” to “stone” being the 2 primary elements that complete each piece of jewelry. The color palette was chosen to connect the very natural materials used to craft each piece. The gold color and textures represent longevity and value.
When creating a brand, we always pick brand textures as a very primary element of the brand structure. For String & Stone, a pearl essence was selected as the primary texture. It speaks towards the “formed by nature itself” yet very refined personality of the brand. The “O” in String & Stone’s primary logo was built as a modular piece and can be changed in color and texture to directly represent any gemstone or fine metal represented in each hand crafted piece that she creates.
